Dear Southland graduates,

Thank you for studying with  Southland University as you pursue your goals in higher education. Southland’s approach was unique Individual Goal Oriented Education (INGOE). We were  having a highly structured curriculum with the flexibility to allow every student to tailor his program to his exact needs.

As a student choosing a Higher Education program many years ago you need a good set of criteria to help you make the best choice possible. Three of the most important factors on evaluating a University are (1) the quality of its faculty (2) the quality and depth of its programs and (3) the total cost of the education. I am proud to say that Southland University was a leader in all three of these vital areas.

Southland was having  possibly the finest faculty of any Private University in the world. Our educators were predominantly Ph.D.’s from top rated universities across the globes, who are experienced teachers, as well as working professionals in their respective fields.

Southland’s academic programs were just as outstanding as the faculty. Areas of study like energy engineering and film and video studies are not only unique but were finest programs of their kind that were available.

Our legal Science Department has a complete Law library and a California Bar program which allows its graduates to sit for the California State Bar and become a California Attorney. Our recognition by the United States Department of Education as a top rated private institution is to say the least an eloquent testimony that makes us remain among the best academic quality delivering institutions in the United States and beyond. Over the years, our student population grown as a result of our international reputation for best practices. This use to attract foreign students from Europe, Asia and Africa to mention a few.   

The School of Business also has innovative programs such as the MBA  blended with Graduate Associate of Science Degree in Computer programs, a special program in Loan and Finance which use to be  offered in conjunction with First State Federal and National Association of Financial Brokers. This program use to be unavailable in other study programs in the country.

Southland also expanded its scope in video education and instructional technology. Emmy and Academy award winners are among the professionals who use to combine  their talents to develope our new courses. Our students use to  study at home via video conferencing and real time online modes, and learn through some of the most innovative course work imaginable.

Unfortunately, due to the increasing  cost of education our students intakes was reduced drastically resulting in poor funding to meet accreditation needs, consequently, we were compelled to close down. However in line with personal letters written to all graduants and students, we were obliged to phased out without further admission till the year 2002.
